Where your workbook file is saved makes a difference

Local - If you save your workbook file to a local drive on your computer or another location in your organization, from Power BI you can load your file into Power BI. Your file will actually remain on your local drive, so the whole file isn’t really imported into Power BI. What really happens is a new dataset is created in Power BI and data and the data model (if any) from the workbook are loaded into the dataset. If your workbook has any Power View sheets, those will appear in your Power BI site under Reports. Excel 2016 also has the Publish feature (under the File menu). Using Publish is effectively the same as using Get Data > Files > Local File from Power BI, but is often easier to update your dataset in Power BI if you’re regularly making changes to the workbook.

OneDrive - Business – If you have OneDrive for Business and you sign into it with the same account you sign into Power BI with, this is by-far the most effective way to keep your work in Excel and your dataset, reports, and dashboards in Power BI in-sync. Because both Power BI and OneDrive are in the cloud, Power BI connects to your workbook file on OneDrive about every hour. If any changes are found, your dataset, reports, and dashboards are automatically updated in Power BI. Just like if you saved your workbook to a local drive, you can also use Publish to update your dataset and reports in Power BI immediately; otherwise Power BI will automatically synchronize, usually within an hour.

OneDrive - Personal – If you save your workbook files to your own OneDrive account, you’ll get many of the same benefits as you would with OneDrive for Business. The biggest difference is when you first connect to your file (using Get Data > Files > OneDrive – Personal) you’ll need to sign in to your OneDrive with your Microsoft account, which is usually different from what you use to sign in to Power BI. When signing in with your OneDrive with your Microsoft account, be sure to select the Keep me signed in option. This way, Power BI will be able to connect to your workbook file about every hour and make sure your dataset and reports in Power BI are in-sync.

You can continue editing your workbook. When your changes are saved, they’ll be synchronized with the dataset in Power BI, usually within about an hour. If you need more immediate gratification, you can just click Publish again, and your changes are exported right then and there. Any visualizations you have in reports and dashboards will be updated, too.

Choose this option if you’ve used Get & Transform data or Power Pivot to load data into a data model, or if your workbook has Power View sheets with visualizations you want to see in Power BI.

Connect, manage and view Excel in Power BI

When you choose Connect, your workbook will appear in Power BI just like it would in Excel Online. But, unlike Excel Online, you’ll have some great features to help you pin elements from your worksheets right to your dashboards.

You can’t edit your workbook in Power BI. But if you need to make some changes, you can click Edit, and then choose to edit your workbook in Excel Online or open it in Excel on your computer. Any changes you make are saved to the workbook on OneDrive.

However, Marco will mostly show how to use SSH instead of FTP. This is a much different process as it uses the command lines instead of drag-and-drop software.

Terminal Commands for Mac, Linux, and Windows

The Terminal software is how you’ll connect using SSH. And Marco demonstrates the commands you’ll need to make your changes.

Although, keep in mind, the command line for Windows is a bit different than that of Mac or Linux.

  Soar is described as a mid-tone pinkish brown, but I think it’s more like a brown toned pink because I see more pink than brown. It’s that browny-pink 90s lip that everyone has been loving this past year.

  Let’s now look at a practical example. We will use three passwords namely

  2. password1

  3. #password1$

  For this example, we will use the password strength indicator of Cpanel when creating passwords. The images below show the password strengths of each of the above-listed passwords.

  Note: the password used is password the strength is 1, and it’s very weak.

  The higher the strength number, better the password.

  Let’s suppose that we have to store our above passwords using md5 encryption. We will use an online md5 hash generator to convert our passwords into md5 hashes.

  We will now use http://www.md5this.com/ to crack the above hashes. The images below show the password cracking results for the above passwords.

  As you can see from the above results, we managed to crack the first and second passwords that had lower strength numbers. We didn’t manage to crack the third password which was longer, complex and unpredictable. It had a higher strength number.

  Password cracking techniques

  There are a number of techniques that can be used to crack passwords. We will describe the most commonly used ones below;

  • Dictionary attack– This method involves the use of a wordlist to compare against user passwords.
  • Brute force attack– This method is similar to the dictionary attack. Brute force attacks use algorithms that combine alpha-numeric characters and symbols to come up with passwords for the attack. For example, a password of the value “password” can also be tried as p@$$word using the brute force attack.
  • Rainbow table attack– This method uses pre-computed hashes. Let’s assume that we have a database which stores passwords as md5 hashes. We can create another database that has md5 hashes of commonly used passwords. We can then compare the password hash we have against the stored hashes in the database. If a match is found, then we have the password.
  • Guess– As the name suggests, this method involves guessing. Passwords such as qwerty, password, admin, etc. are commonly used or set as default passwords. If they have not been changed or if the user is careless when selecting passwords, then they can be easily compromised.
  • Spidering– Most organizations use passwords that contain company information. This information can be found on company websites, social media such as facebook, twitter, etc. Spidering gathers information from these sources to come up with word lists. The word list is then used to perform dictionary and brute force attacks.

  These are software programs that are used to crack user passwords. We already looked at a similar tool in the above example on password strengths. The website www.md5this.com uses a rainbow table to crack passwords. We will now look at some of the commonly used tools

  John the Ripper uses the command prompt to crack passwords. This makes it suitable for advanced users who are comfortable working with commands. It uses to wordlist to crack passwords.     A media tempest in a teapot followed Federalist senior editor, author, and Fox News contributor Mollie Hemingway's naming of the so-called whistleblower during FNC's live show Media Buzz on Sunday morning.

    Conservative media complimented her for finally breaking through the MSM wall of silence on naming the accuser who got the ball rolling on the effort to impeach President Trump for his July 25 Ukraine phone call. Predictably, the MSM and NeverTrumps were mostly critical of Hemingway's comments.

    In an unusual if not unprecedented move, the scheduled replay of Media Buzz, which always takes place at 3 A.M. E.T. Monday, 13 hours after the program first airs live from Washington, D.C., was apparently spiked. This weekend, another pre-recorded show on veterans was substituted in its place. Last week, a number of media reported that Fox News management had recently informed its producers and on-air talent not to name the so-called whistleblower.

    On Monday, the plot thickened, so to speak, as more information about these goings-on came to light. First, close watchers of Fox News revealed that Hemingway was not the first person on Fox News to out the whistleblower. Last Thursday, during the 1 P.M. E.T. daily program Outnumbered Overtime, guest Lars Larsen uttered the so-called whisteblower's moniker, Eric Ciaramella, which had already been published by a number of print and online outlets.

I've dealt with a lot of whistleblowers in my career. This is not a pro-Trump stance; it's not an anti-Trump stance. I just think that we shouldn't be pushed into this because certain politicians don't want to take the heat for identifying this person himself.

    Sorry, Howie. The so-called whistleblower's name has been more than 'bandied about' by 'some partisan sites.' For example, Real Clear Investigations (RCI) is a reputable, non-partisan news and aggregation site that is part of the RealClearFoundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit. On October 30, RCI published a detailed article by Paul Sperry that named career CIA analyst Eric Ciaramella, 33, as 'the anonymous 'whistleblower.' Subsequent media reports, including this one published November 6 in the Washington Examiner, have fleshed out Ciaramella's background as a deeply embedded partisan Democrat.

    

    On November 11, an article by Ben Weingarten at The Federalist confirmed Ciaramella's political bent:

    Based on the RealClearInvestigations report on Ciaramella, given his laundry list of anti-Trump bona fides and apparent connections to leaders in the national security and foreign policy apparatus, he would appear to be a proverbial 'made man' of the deep state.

    Ciaramella's attorney, Mark S. Zaid, tweeted in 2017 that a 'coup has started' that would take down President Trump. As Fox News reported on November 6:

    Mark Zaid, one of the attorneys representing the intelligence community whistleblower at the center of the Democrats' ongoing impeachment inquiry, tweeted conspicuously in January 2017 that a 'coup has started' and that 'impeachment will follow ultimately.'

    Zaid also predicted that CNN would play a significant role in President Trump's ouster. He had a front-row seat to witness that prediction come true. As Brian Flood reported at Fox News dot com on November 7:

    Mark Zaid, the attorney representing the whistleblower at the center of the Democrats' ongoing impeachment inquiry, has said CNN 'will play a key role' in removing President Trump from office, and the liberal network has repeatedly given him a platform by booking him as a guest.

It does not bar the media from naming a 'whistleblower' who makes allegations against a sitting president as Democrats ramp up impeachment efforts.

    For her part, Mollie Hemingway, the woman at the center of this story, continued to tweet prolifically as usual on Monday to her 370,000 followers with no indication that she had suffered any adverse consequences for her comments on Media Buzz on Sunday. To date, she has not commented directly about what she said on Kurtz's program. Among her tweets Monday was one that pointed to her colleague Weingarten's excellent article, 'The Media Holds a Massive Double Standard about Naming Whistleblowers.'

    Meanwhile, on Sunday, six hours after the Media Buzz show ended, Hemingway tweeted a link to a November 10 article at The Federalist confirming 'Schiff's Committee Published Name of Alleged Whistleblower Last Week.'

    Today I will review and swatch a lip pencil from MAC named Dervish. I bought two pencils of which one I have already reviewed and now want to share my views on this one. It is the perfect lip pencil to use when in a hurry. I quickly line and fill my lips with it and then pop a little clear gloss or lip balm on top to makes lips look juicer or healthy so it does not take more than a minute while leaving early morning for work.

    My Review:

    Mac Dervish is a cooler pink shade with brown beige undertone. It is one of the nude shades which match the natural colour of my lips perfectly. Also it looks amazingly well with smokey eyes. It can be used under number of lipsticks like mac Craving, Taupe, Syrup, “O” and Sandy “B” lipsticks. It is perfect for defining the lips and makes them look sharper. You can also make your lips look bigger by lining outside the edges if you have thin lips.

    

    I would say you can even use it on its own as it’s a very pretty shade. It helps to prevent colour from bleeding and to keep vibrant lipsticks stay on longer and the glosses in place. It’s decently pigmented as two or more swipes on lips build up the colour. It provides an average coverage to pigmented lips.

    The staying power is great at almost 6-7 hours. The texture is very soft. It is quite creamy and buttery in texture. You need to pull and tug to make it more intense. When applied on the lips it gives a matte finish and makes lips a bit drier so I recommend a lip balm first to make the application smooth. You can apply any lip balm or gloss which can take care of the dryness part. The formula is very nice and you can use it while lining the outer edges of lips and best used underneath a more opaque lipstick and one that is slightly hydrating or moisturizing. The range comes in a wide variety of shades that work with many different lipstick shades. It works as a soft base for pink, peach and brown lipsticks. The great thing about this shade is it seems to work on all skin tones. It is a neutral lip liner that brightens up the complexion and goes great with all looks.

    Packaging: This pencil comes in a black box where all the necessary information is given. The pencil itself is greyish in colour and the pencil top matches with the pencil shade. So it’s easy to locate shades and you can pick it out the shade easily if you hoard so many. You have to sharpen this pencil as its not retractable. It is very light weight and quite sturdy so can be carried in purse while travelling.

Its a good nude pink shade which can work with fair to medium Indian skin tones. It can be used on its own with a clear lip balm or gloss on top or can be used under other lipsticks to make them stay on for longer.     The only good thing on the internet right now is Twitter's (and my) rediscovery (or even just discovery) of the 1998 film Meet Joe Black. In it, Brad Pitt plays the literal personification of death, aka Joe Black, in a love story that goes on for three whole hours.

    The newfound attention to the film was sparked by user @ladyastronauty's repost of the film's opening scene, which she aptly declares 'is the most bonkers one minute of a movie that I have ever seen.'

    This 'bonkers' minute (which is actually a minute and 19 seconds) consists of Black saying goodbye to Dr. Susan Parrish (Claire Forlani) just after they have met in a coffee shop, not having introduced themselves. You don't know any of that watching the clip, and the lack of context makes this bizarre goodbye scene even more bizarre, as each turns around to catch another glimpse of the other at exactly the wrong moments so that one never catches the other's eye. It's painful timing that just never seems to end... until, that is, it does when Black is hit by not one, but two cars.

    While most on Twitter delighted solely on the glorious choreography of Pitt bouncing between cars, others dug up other painful moments from the film, including one where both Black and Parrish share how they enjoy how each other smells.

    But then, those who got stuck on the car crash scene or even the Her Smell-foreshadower don't know what happened in the rest of the film, because, as @BenFoldy pointed out, the car crash is 'only the second most bonkers' part of Meet Joe Black, the first being the scene where Pitt speaks in patois to an old woman in the hospital who thinks his presence is a sign of black magic.

We were there for 2 hours, they advertised continuous cleaning - we didn't see a single person cleaning the entire time. Not one slot machine was wiped down.
